Job Summary
A Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of ECN’s data networks. They will provide expert technical assistance and guidance to team members with high-level system and networking requests. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing and testing complex infrastructure needs. As a member of the Production Administration Team, a Senior Network Engineer will provide onsite and remote support with critical response time requirements. They will work independently and as part of a team to answer high-level NOC calls, urgently analyze technical issues, address escalations, work with the project manager on team related projects, and troubleshoot over the phone/onsite/via remote access. Finally, this role will successfully demonstrate the skills required to design, manage and secure network infrastructures to protect productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively support data and communications networks to ensure 24×7 operation and that networks are available to all system users
  • Document and resolve data communications problems
  • Coordinate installation of communications equipment  (some travel may be required)
  • Collaborate with internal and external groups to help identify and resolve issues affecting our services
  • Develop and maintain NOC policies, procedures and tools
  • Network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
  • Internal systems, cloud and network infrastructure
  • Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, SQL, etc.
  • Virtualization technologies: VMware, Microsoft, etc.
  • Remote access solution support: VPN, Terminal Services, etc.
  • Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
  • Perform network assessments and security audits
  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a like role
  • 2 year degree, military, or other related technical training preferred
  • Network certifications preferred
  • Process & Detail Oriented
  • Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of routers, switches and firewalls
  • Previous experience with tools used in monitoring the network, including PRTG
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze multiple complex technical issues in a face paced environment
